Since arriving on the New York Jazz scene in 2007, Sam Raderman has performed at many of the City’s top jazz venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Midsummer Night Swing Festival, Fat Cat and The Blue Note. In addition to his many other performances, Sam maintained weekly residences at Smalls and Smoke Jazz Club for over two years. He holds a B.A. in Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music and an M.A. in Jazz Studies from NYU. While there, his mentors included John D. Thomas, Peter Bernstein, Randy Johnston, Ralph Lalama and John Scofield.
As well as leading his own groups, Sam works as a sideman with many of NYC’s top jazz artists. In 2014, he recorded all of the guitar and banjo parts for The Hot Sardines’ debut album, which was released by Decca Records. He recently joined them again to record their second album with Decca.
Sam is also a dedicated jazz educator. Since 2009, he has held an adjunct faculty position at SUNY Westchester Community College where he teaches courses in Guitar, Jazz History, Music Theory and Music Appreciation.
Sam is very excited to announce that he has just completed his debut album with the Sam Raderman Quartet. Entitled, “With Great Pleasure,” it features Aaron Kimmel on drums, Dave Baron on bass and Ray Gallo on piano.
